Development & mould production

Our Services

Three service areas cover the complete tooling chain: the development of the mould concept and master tooling, the series production of porous resin moulds for high-pressure casting, and the setup of complete in-house mould making departments.

Development

Complete development of the mould concept for your product in most cases targeting casting moulds for traditional casting and for High Pressure Casting. Engineered for casting behaviour, demoulding direction and stable series production.

Design

Product review, casting feasibility, mould separation concept and 3D design.

Model Mould

Master model production CNC-milled plaster models and hand modelling.

Case Mould

Epoxy case moulds (e.g. Araldite) as precise master tooling for mould production The finished case mould is the master tooling from which the porous resin production moulds are cast

Porous Resin Moulds

Series production of porous resin moulds the filter-active forming tool for modern high-pressure casting of sanitaryware and tableware.

Mould systems

2-part up to 5-part mould sets, matched to product geometry and machine.

Resin systems

Four- and five-component porous resin, MICRO and PRO versions.

Solid resin blocks

CNC-millable blocks for vacuum moulds (roller casting, insulator production) and casting moulds.

Compatibility

Suitable for our ANKA series and for all common HPC machines on the market.

Test casting

Mould validation under real casting conditions before delivery Our porous resin components for in-house mould casting, as well as our ready-made resin moulds, are suitable not only for Castimo machines but for all common HPC machines. On request, we provide consulting support for machine and mould matching.

In-House Mould Making Department

Complete service for customers who want to produce their own moulds: we plan and equip a professional mould making department at your site — from workshop layout and equipment to processes and training. You then source the porous resin raw materials directly from Castimo and process them in-house, giving you full control over mould supply, short lead times and independence in series production.

Department setup

Planning, layout and equipment of a professional in-house mould shop.

Raw materials

Continuous supply of Castimo porous resin components (MICRO / PRO systems)

Know-how transfer

Training, quality control procedures and process support for reliable mould production.

Consulting

Ongoing technical consulting for machines, moulds and process optimization.

Development process

From Drawing to Production Mould

Every mould project follows a structured development flow. Each step is validated before the next, so the final production mould delivers stable casting results from the first cycle.

Mould Design & Development

Model Design is a critical stage in ceramic production, serving as the foundation for mould manufacturing and final product quality.

A vital stage in ceramic production, ensuring accurate geometry, dimensional stability, and casting compatibility. Optimized for smooth surfaces, uniform thickness, and efficient demoulding, it supports consistent quality, reduced defects, and reliable production.

Key Features

Plaster Model Moulds

The classic mould material for traditional slip casting and for master model production. CNC-milled plaster models form the basis of every mould development.

Araldite / Epoxy Case Mould

Epoxy case moulds (e.g. Araldite systems) serve as dimensionally stable master tooling from which production moulds are cast repeatably and in consistent quality.

Solid Resin Blocks

Resin blocks produced at Castimo under strict specifications. The block is CNC-milled into the mould shape and used as a vacuum mould in pottery applications on roller casting machines and ceramic insulator production stations or as a casting mould for tableware and sanitaryware production.

Porous Resin Moulds

Filter-active porous resin moulds for high-pressure casting. The pressure drives the water from the slip through the pore system for fast cycles and high output: 20+ products per shift and mould instead of 1–2 with conventional plaster casting.

Insights from mould production

Workshop & Tooling

Mould making at Castimo combines digital precision with ceramic craftsmanship CNC machining, hand modelling and controlled resin casting.

Quality & Mould Lifetime

Alt metin lazım

Test casting before delivery

Every mould development is validated by prototype and test casting under realistic process conditions before series release.

Long mould lifetime

Typical porous resin mould lifetime exceeds 60,000 casting cycles; with optimized geometry and stable process conditions, more than 100,000 cycles are achievable.

Casting warranty

Castimo provides a casting warranty of 20,000 cycles per supplied porous resin mould set under correct operating and maintenance conditions.

Care & maintenance

With CASTIDUR we offer an effective cleaning agent against slip and lime residues keeping pore systems open and extending mould life. Complementary to it, the two-component deep-cleaning system CASTINOVA visibly deep-cleans porous resin moulds and significantly extends their lifetime. The high cleaning power of the Castimo cleaning systems is proven: even heavily discoloured casting moulds appear like new again.

MOULD CARE & PROTECTION SOLUTIONS protection

Mould Care Chemicals

Regular cleaning is essential for porous resin moulds: residues of slip, lime and other particles dry on the resin surface and clog the pore system, reducing casting performance and mould durability. The Castimo cleaning systems keep pores open and extend mould life their high cleaning power is proven, making even heavily discoloured casting moulds appear like new again.

CASTIDUR

Highly effective cleaning agent for porous resin moulds. Removes residues of slip and lime and prevents the formation of mildew. Ready for use at a concentration of 1–2%, available in 5, 10 and 25 kg batches.

CASTINOVA

Two-component deep-cleaning system, complementary to CASTIDUR. CASTINOVA visibly deep-cleans porous resin moulds and significantly extends their lifetime restoring even heavily discoloured moulds to a like-new appearance.

CASTIMO PAINT

Sealing product for high-pressure casting moulds the most efficient way to prevent air and water permeability at the desired areas of your porous resin moulds.

More than 30 Years of Process Know-How

Reliable mould development means looking at the complete production chain not just the tool. Our development work takes into account raw materials, slip recipe, the casting machine, different material suppliers and the downstream production steps. This is how we deliver moulds that perform reliably under real production conditions, with consistently high quality.

On request, we also offer slip recipe development as a separate service — adjusting rheology, casting behaviour and solid content to your raw materials and your casting process.
